Charles Wayne Earhart
July 5, 1949 — June 15, 2024
Mr. Charles Wayne Earhart, age 74, Telford, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Durham-Hensley Nursing Home, Chuckey after a battle with cancer and Leukemia.
Mr. was a native of Johnson City, TN, and the son of the late Robert and Mary Ruth Umberger Earhart. His siblings Barbara Barnett, Lenore Earhart, George Earhart and Rebecca Oakes also preceded him in death.
He was a United States Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War having revived a Purple Heart. He was a very patriotic man who loved all things America! He adored watching a NASCAR race and drinking Mountain Dew.
The family would like to thank the staff at Durham-Hensley Nursing Home and Gentiva Hospice for their kindness during Wayne's last days.
Wayne was survived by his brothers Jerry Dean Earhart and Douglas Earhart (Diane), niece Tina Killion (Jack) and several other nieces and nephews; and special friends and caregivers Bobby and Lisa Durbin and their children.
Graveside services will be Tuesday June 25, 2024 2:00PM at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, Tennessee.
Pallbearers will be Jason Riner, Tim Cash, Zac Killion, Charles Barnette, Thomas Cash and Jayden Durbin. Those wishing to go in procession please meet at Jonesborough Funeral Home, Tuesday at 1:00PM.
