David Willard Salts, 60, of Jonesborough, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday afternoon, March 23, 2025, after a lengthy illness. He was born to the late Willard Ray and Louis (Brummet) Salts. David loved the Lord, he was a loving and faithful husband to his wife Jodi. David was an active member and Deacon of Antioch Baptist Church where he served the widow ladies, he served them faithfully. David loved to tell people about Jesus and his many mission trips to Belize where through Hearts of Christ he sponsored Eddison, Edwardo Jr., and Esther. He had a servants hearts, he used his chainsaw as a ministry to people in need of a fallen trees being cleared. David was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved NASCAR racing and his favorite driver was Martin Truex. David loved to vacation with his wife and their most recent trip to St. Lucia completed his bucket list. He was a retired Butcher.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his uncle and aunt, J.B. an Ruth Salts.
He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-nine years, Jodi Miller Salts; mother-in-law, Gretchen Miller, of Unicoi; brother-in-laws, Russell Miller and wife Jill, of Tullahoma, TN, Stephen Miller and wife Crystal, of Kingsport; nieces, Megan Emery and husband Wes; nephews, Trevor Miller, Christian Miller, Ian Miller and wife Alison; great-nephew, Hudson Norman Miller; along with several cousins.
The Salts family will receive friends on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Antioch Baptist Church - 1014 Antioch Rd Johnson City, TN 37604, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Pete Tackett officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Cannon, Jeff Campbell, Louie Shipley, David Keys, Tracey Teal, Rick McInturff, Mike Corhan, Jeff Estep, Jacob Estep, Romley Wallace, and John Brown.
In lieu of flowers, the Salts family has requested that donations be made in David's memory to the Hearts of Christ - P.O. Box 1738 Morristown, TN 37816.
