Douglas Wilson, 78, of the Dry Creek community, passed away on Thursday morning, October 24, 2024, at the Johnson City Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born to the late Oscar and Sarah (Helton) Wilson. Doug was a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church. He was a retired carpenter. Doug was a loving son, brother, and uncle. He was known as being a quite gentle soul and he loved his jeep.
In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his sisters, Francis and Shirley; brothers, Estel, Albert, Charles, Junior, James, and Gary Don.
He is survived by his sister, Peggy Carroll; brothers, Theodore Wilson (Phyllis), David Wilson (Cindy); long-time special friend, Wanda Miller; along with several nieces and nephews.
The Wilson family will honor Doug's life with a Graveside Service on Saturday, October 26, 2024, in Cherry Grove Keplinger Cemetery beginning at 2 PM. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Everyone who wishes to attend the Graveside is asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 PM.
