Jerry Lee Hunter, 77, of Jonesborough, tragically passed away during the devastating flood in our region. He was born to the late Joe and Willie (Phillips) Hunter in Unicoi County. Jerry proudly served his country in the United Sates Army as an MP at Fort Rucker. He enjoyed trading, selling, and breaking horses. Jerry also loved his mama's cooking, watching Wrestling and Gunsmoke. He was a Route Salesman for Budweiser.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his sisters, Pearl Miller, Maria Silvers, and Ethel Arrowood: brother, Jack Hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Hunter; sisters, Judy Barnett, and Betty Cass; brother, Eddie Hunter and wife Joyce; step-children, Ashley and Adam Isaac; along with several nieces and nephews.
The Hunter family will honor Jerry's life with a Graveside Service on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Cherry Grove - Keplinger Cemetery. On November 11, 2024, the Hunter family will receive friends from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. at New Hope Brethren Church, 352 New Hope Rd. Jonesborough, TN 37659. A Celebration of Life Service will follow the Visitation at 6 p.m.
