Kate M. Silvers, 81, of Limestone, was called home on Saturday morning, February 3, 2024, at Durham- Hensley Health and Rehab after a lengthy illness. She was born to the late James and Beadie Mitchel in Hawkins County. Kate was a caregiver to many until her health no longer permitted.
In addition to her parents, Kate was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Megan Butcher; one sister; and five brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Lonnie Silvers; daughters, Barbara Butcher, Michelle Turner; son, Stephen Smith; step-daughter, Peggy Eastep; step-sons, Daniel Silvers, Ronald Silvers, and Fred Poore; granddaughters, Jessica Butcher, Kaylen Butcher; eight step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Vaughn; and brother, Reed Mitchel.
The Silvers family will receive friends on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Limestone Freewill Baptist Church. A Memorial Service will follow the Visitation at 7 p.m. with Rev. Harold Morelock officiating.
