Mabel L. Walker, 79, of Johnson City, passed away on Wednesday, morning August 14, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born to the late Floyd and Mae (Presley) Rosenbaum in Jonesborough on September 3, 1944.

Mabel attended Berea Free Will Baptist Church where she was very active. She helped in the food pantry and sang in the choir. Mabel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her three brothers, Paul "Bud" Rosenbaum, Floyd David Rosenbaum, and Timothy Rosenbaum; six sisters, Nellie West, Ruth Carr, Betty McGowen, Melissa "Jane" Pierce, April "Midge" Miller, and Ruby Ledford.

She is survived by her husband of sixty two years, Kenneth Walker; son, Kenneth W. Walker (Judy); daughters, Sherry Gross (Bob), Deidre Roberts (Toby), and Lori Hensley (Adam); six grandchildren, John Silvers (Amanda), Daniel "Red" Silvers (Jessica), Bobby Gross (Megan), Ashton Hensley (Justin), Brittany Walker (Zack), Halie Walters (Dakota); nine great-grandchildren, Heather Shelton, Shannon Silvers, Leah, Ciara, and Paisley Gross, Tiara Trantham, Shane Benfield, Renezmae, and Tyrion Silvers; two brothers, Dannell Rosenbaum, and Marvin Rosenbaum (Billy Jean); along with several nieces and nephews.

The Walker family will receive friends on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Berea Free Will Baptist Church from from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow the Visitation at 8 p.m. with Rev. Gary Hill and Rev. Freddie Bennett officiating. Committal Service and Interment will be on Friday, August 16, 2024 in Maple Lawn Cemetery beginning at 10 a.m. Adam Hensley, Bob Gross, Bobby Gross II, Jonathan Silvers, Daniel Silvers, Dakota Chapman, and Zackery Carter will serve as pallbearers. Everyone who wishes to attend the Committal Service is asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 a.m.
