Richard McKinney, 89, of Telford, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday evening, January 4, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness. He was born to the late John and Fairy (Ledford) McKinney. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Marie McKinney; granddaughter, Jennifer Hayhurst, one brother Ray McKinney, three sisters, Gracie Ramey, Barbara McKinney, and Parlee Privette . He attended Apostolic Holiness Church in Jonesborough. Richard loved his church family and going to church, he enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing.
He is survived by his daughter, Charlene Howard; son, Wade McKinney (Sherry); grandchildren, Ashley Reed, and Brandon McKinney; great-grandchildren, Cameron Shell, Krista Jones, Tanner Crum, Max Cleek, Destiny Clark, Dominic Bennett, Isaiah Reed, Rachel Reed, and Samuel Reed; along with a great-great-granddaughter, CallieAnn Marie Jones; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Betty McKinney, Ralph and Ellean McKinney; and several nieces and nephews.
The McKinney family will receive friends on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Apostolic Holiness Church - 270 Upper Sand Valley Rd. Jonesborugh, TN 37659, from 10 AM - 12 PM. A Funeral Service will follow at 12 PM with Pastor Jonathan Reed officiating. Committal Service and Interment will be 2 PM at Washington County Memory Gardens on Saturday, following the Funeral. Brandon McKinney, Tanner Crum, Joseph Elledge, Randy Henley, Rex Henley, and John Carr will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
