Sandra (Sandy) C. Levotch, age 77, of Jonesborough, Tennessee passed away on
March 29 th , 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 17 th , 1948 in
Rogersville, Tennessee to the late Choice Carlisle and Edith Nadine Nolen. Sandy
graduated from Unicoi County High School and then attended East Tennessee State
University, earning a bachelor’s degree in biology while also participating on the Drill
Team. It was during this time that she met Nes, the love of her life and husband of 52
years.
Sandy was an accomplished professional, working as a realtor and later an appraiser
for Washington County. In addition, she volunteered as a Washington County Sherrif’s
Reserve Deputy and later found herself as a journeyman and partner with Nes in the
development of a troutfishing equipment and guide service. Regardless of her personal
endeavors, her commitment to family was unwaivering. She would drop anything to
support Nes and her girls.
While grounded by her love for the small town of Jonesborough and the simplicity of
gardening, she often felt the need to travel, visiting Germany, Austria, and South Korea
as well as much of the United States and always found her way to the ocean, whether it
be stateside in Hawaii, Florida, North or South Carolina, or abroad in Europe or the
Bahamas.
Sandy epitomized faith and love, supporting friends and family alike if ever in need.
She is survived by her loving family: her husband, Nes, daughters Susan (Scotty) Fain,
Sally (Bill) Hannan, sisters Myra Lewis, Leslie Mae Light, Elizabeth Hillick;
grandchildren, Nestor (Baylee) Grubb, Kellen, Madden, and Merritt Fain, and Caroline,
Billy, and Elliot Hannan; and a large extended family and many friends.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for a future date to honor Sandy.
