Theodore Wilson, a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, at the age of 80, on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
Born in Washington County, Theodore was known for his kind, humble spirit, giving heart, strong work ethic, and always putting his family first. He will be deeply missed by his wife Phyllis, children: Tina Foster (Tim), Lisa Miller (Tim), and grandchildren: Tymber Gomez-Calcagno (Moises), Cassie Foster, and Carter Miller, great-grandchildren: William, Jacquline, Timmy Lucas and Amelia Gomez-Calcagno. Theodore loved going to the Erwin Linear Trail to feed the squirrels with his best buddy, Spencer. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, Erwin.
Theodore is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Sarah (Helton) Wilson, sisters: Francis Miller and Shirley Rodifer; brothers: Estel, Albert, Charles, Oscar Jr., James, Douglas, and Garry Don. In addition to his wife and children, Theodore is survived by sister Peggy Carroll and brother David Wilson, along with special nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Brian Way, Kim Green and Gentiva Hospice for the care, love and support shown to Theodore and the family.
The family will honor Theodore’s life with a graveside service on Saturday, December 7, 2024 in Cherry Grove Keplinger Cemetery, beginning at 2 PM. The service will be conducted by Pastor Bart Richardson of Central Baptist Church, Erwin. Pallbearers will be Carter Miller, Rick Freeman, Carson Woodward, Carl Harris Jr., Vestal Smith, Dave Byrd, and Terry Wilson. Everyone who wishes to attend the graveside is asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 PM.
